Friends and Family

Italy 2005

We had a great time in June during a 10 day tour of Rome, Venice, and Florence. This picture is taken at the Ponte Vecchio (Old Bridge) in Florence, where Clancy stayed behind for an additional month studying photography and cooking at the University.

Cycling Signorina

Clancy had a cush "study" schedule at the University in Florence, with every Friday off, allowing for three day weekend excursions.

The Vatican Museum

The three cities are very different from one another, but Rome absolutely wears you out with the sheer volume of extraordinary historical and architectural treasures, which just occur as part of the everyday scenery.

Becky's Prom

One of the things that Kathy and I miss the most about Becky graduating is that we don't have a houseful of her friends over as often, although they seem to stop by whenever she's home on a school break. She has a unique group of friends that bonded early in their high school experience, and continue to maintain their strong friendship.

Becky & The Wild Ones

Becky (second from left) and the league champion Wild Ones celebrated in style at the Burbank Ponytail Softball Jamboree in July. These same girls have played together for six years, and have become great friends as well as players.

East Coast College Trip

This picture was taken in freezing December weather in Philadelphia during our expedition to find the right place for Becky to start her collegiate life. We went to Boston College, Boston U., Fordham (New York), and Villanova.

Our New House

After living in our compound in Shadow Hills for 12 years while the girls were little, we moved back to Glendale in 1999, and loved our home on San Luis Rey. But as much as we enjoyed the house, we always missed the big outdoor area that we'd become used to before. So, in summer of 2003, we bought a "blank slate" house with a big yard just a few blocks from San Luis Rey, and renovated both the house and yard exactly to our liking. As we'd hoped, it's become the kids' hangout house, so we have the double benefit of having lots of contact with Becky's friends.

Gone Fishin'

After three strenuous days of hiking up and down stream in search of the elusive trout, a bloody mary at the Bridge House in Truckee seemed like a good idea. It's easier to catch, for one thing. Featured fishermen left to right are Steve Lloyd, Phil Simon, John SPree, and AL Ciocca.

Father-Daughter Ball

Clancy & I had a great time at the Sacred Heart High School Father-Daughter Ball. You probably wouldn't guess by looking at me (I hope) that I'd been released from the hospital three hours earlier after having an angioplasty and stent placed in my heart! What used to be a major procedure was so benign that I watched it all being performed on the monitor while discussing it with the doctor.
