We took advantage of having both girls home in early June to plan a trip to Italy. This photo is taken at the Ponte Vecchio in Florence, just a short walk away from our hotel, a thirteenth century building with a bell tower offering views of the entire city. Clancy stayed behind when we left, taking classes for the month of July at the local university.

Clancy found that the old saying about never forgetting how to ride a bicycle is true. During her month is Florence, she had the opportunity to travel to many of the small towns and historic sites, most of which still cling to the philosophy that simple is better.

Becky graduated from Sacred Heart Academy in June, receiving, among other honors, the Tolog Award as the person exemplifying the spirit of the Sacred Heart student. In August, she started on a new adventure as a freshman at Villanova University in Philadelphia.

Becky and friends had a great time at the Prom, partying beforehand at our house, then travelling by limo (with their dates)to the historic Los Angeles Biltmore.
